Walmart, the largest employer in the United States, needed a more innovative way to understand and engage their more than a million associates. Central to our strategy was reframing benefits. Through a close collaboration with Walmart’s HR leaders, StrawberryFrog designed and launched the Better Living Movement with the clear aim to transform habits and behaviors among 1.5 million Walmart associates. This included focusing on the human need, and thereafter simplifying the way we engaged and told stories around compensation, benefits and performance. As you can imagine this is an important need for employees, and designing a movement for this led to a more understandable, upbeat and empowering experience than what employees traditionally have. The Better Living Movement enabled Walmart to support the physical, emotional, and financial well-being of associates. Results showed that associates engaged and participated in radically higher numbers, and used them and to live better.
