David Warner

Partner / Executive Creative Director StrawberryFrog Amsterdam

“Change the world” was David’s unabashedly honest response to the question ‘What do you want to do?’ when interviewed for an art director’s club scholarship all those years ago. And, for better or worse that drive and idealism has never really escaped him.

One part art director, one part writer, two parts explorer of emotion and culture, David has been pursuing original and unconventional ways to move and inspire people for over 20 years.

His first break came while still a student by cracking the concept art direction to promote Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands. And from there, he has gone on to create effective, award winning brand concepts and marketing for the likes of PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, Orange, Speedo, Sony Ericsson, Mercedes Benz, the Whitney Museum of American Art and Kimberly Clark.

His career spans brand marketing and communications, publishing, interactive and integrated advertising in the US and Europe. From his early days of creating new and reshaping existing brands for Mead and Kimberly Clark he moved into publishing to help turn Details Magazine into an international culture and style icon. And soon after, he saw the potential in a relatively niche communication channel that had the makings of world changer.

As a pioneer of interactive marketing and communication he helped define the genre of online advertising and communication, driving it's evolution while creating ground breaking work for Warner Music Group, Lee, Vanity Fair, Casio G-Shock, Giorgio Armani and Rockstar Games.

Prior to joining StrawberryFrog, David lead Canon’s integrated advertising for their IXUS, PowerShot, EOS and PIXMA brands – resulting in some of the most successful campaigns for the brand in Europe.

Today, David oversees the Amsterdam office of StrawberryFrog where he builds teams and movements for Pampers amongst others.

David has been recognized by international awards such as One Show, NY Festivals, CLIO, and the Grammys. As well as judging for the Art Directors Club and The One Show, he has also lectured at Art Center College of Design and Hyper Island.
